Kellen, one of the world’s leading partners to trade associations and professional societies, is adding a high-performing Associate Marketing Manager position to its corporate services team in Washington, D.C. This individual will split his or her time between supporting Kellen’s corporate marketing and communications functions and providing communications insight and execution support to client management teams on a project or ongoing basis.
The successful candidate will be a B2B marketing generalist with strengths in interpreting complex industry needs and issues and translating them into engaging, compelling content narratives. General Purpose of the Position Kellen’s corporate services departments, including the Business Development team, work to ensure sound operations and shared understanding of the company’s mission and objectives internally, while externally fueling and nurturing industry relationships through marketing efforts. Further, this individual will work between Kellen’s in-house communications agency and client management teams to support the programs and objectives of our partner organizations as needed.
What will you do?
Corporate Marketing and Communications Support
Coordinate and facilitate execution of Kellen’s corporate marketing and communications programs under the guidance of the Director of Marketing
Research and develop content for internal and external communications vehicles including client case studies, corporate intranet, media outreach, social media, thought leadership and research articles, videos, white papers, and KellenCompany.com and SRAComms.com websites
Support Kellen’s involvement in relevant industry organizations through occasional participation in events and execution of sponsorship deliverables when needed
Manage Kellen’s participation in relevant industry awards and recognition programs including collection of data and drafting program submissions and nominations across portfolio of clients
Build and maintain library of business development assets for Kellen and its service lines
Develop new business assets including content for nurturing campaigns, pitch decks, proposals and sales outreach
Assist in management of relationship and email marketing databases, including research and data processing, as needed (Salesforce and Pardot)
Support new business pipeline management and produce regular reports for senior leadership and sales teams, as needed
Work with client and department leads to understand needs and translate them into insights to inform project planning
Provide hands-on execution and coordination support for corporate strategic projects
Client Communications Operations
Develop and execute communications plans for events, training and education, membership campaigns, digital and print media, press releases, annual reports, communications for email and landing pages, social media, Web copy, phone scripts, etc.
Work with subject matter experts, designers, developers and client management leads to produce content and collateral in support of project or ongoing client objectives
Participate in events, conferences, and trades shows, as necessary
Participate in internal client meetings to attain understanding of strategy and direction, while securing client approvals and follow-ups, as needed
Identify, secure and manage speaking and thought leadership initiatives for clients
Leverage internal and external marketing insights to optimize strategy and communication initiatives
Maintain knowledge of clients, their goals, and relevant industry and consumer publications
Are you Qualified?
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
2 to 4 years’ experience in marketing and/or strategic communications
Superlative written and oral communications skills including working knowledge of AP Style
Experience developing content for both digital and traditional communications vehicles
Ability to analyze and identify trends in data from various insights platforms such as Google Analytics, advertising and email platforms, social media, and media monitoring software
Ability to maintain a clear head, analytical mindset and professional demeanor in the face of rapidly changing and competing priorities
Working knowledge of platform-specific communications best practices in email marketing, live events and social media

Previous role(s) at advertising, PR or public affairs agencies, management firms, or professional services/consulting providers
Experience working with trade associations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), professional societies or industry-oriented nonprofits
Functional understanding of account-based marketing (ABM) best practices and technologies
Working knowledge of digital user experience including information architecture, search engine optimization and/or Web development
Functional experience in graphic design and/or video production and editing, or experience managing visual design projects with technical resources
Experience in or exposure to corporate change management programs
