The Global Innovation Exchange (GIX) is a new model of experiential education and practice to develop leaders in innovation. GIX has an outstanding full time opportunity for a Marketing Manager based in Bellevue, WA.The GIX Marketing Manager will help drive the planning and execution of a broad range of marketing and communications strategies to support GIX's mission and goals.The GIX Marketing Manager reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications at CoMotion & GIX and also works closely with GIX Directors and staff who lead student recruitment and advancement efforts. This individual will help drive the development, execution and evaluation of marketing and communications programs designed to increase awareness and visibility of GIX in the UW community, greater Seattle region, nationally and internationally.The primary functions of this position are (1) to lead planning, coordinating, and execution of marketing efforts for GIX including direct marketing and digital communications, (2) target a diverse audience composed of University faculty, staff, and students, investors, government, and media (3) content strategy lead to advertise and promote news and events to the audiences via website, Network Wall, email, Twitter, Facebook and other social media, (4) write and create blogs and quarterly e-newsletter content about GIX milestones, news and related events, and (6) garner positive news coverage in key regional and UW publications.RESPONSIBILITIES:Drive the content management strategy for website and Network Wall: create and curate content on regular basis.Report on website analytics and make recommendations for improvements.Write and produce stories for website and Network Wall.Generate multimedia content: create content by working with videographers and photographers on GIX stories, events, news items and student projects.Manage and drive production of marketing collateral: create designs and layouts for brochures, posters, banners, promotional merchandise, and other pieces. Work with vendors to oversee production, quality and delivery.Lead design and branding strategy: create and provide templates, photos, graphics; oversee compliance with UW branding.Drive GIX social media presence: write posts for Facebook, Twitter in support of stories, news and events including photo and video.Work creatively and independently in designing, editing, producing and posting content, layout, photography, video and graphical elements, to strengthen the brand and messaging of GIX.Undertake special projects as directed.SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE:Communications Strategy and Marketing CommunicationsDevelop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy focused on raising awareness of GIX and their goals with UW faculty, students and staff, investors and media.Support marketing needs of student recruitment team.Develop, write and produce digital and print communications and collateral.Expand the GIX audience through careful research of contacts, networks, and group interests, then refining communications to better target these groups.Continue to add to GIX website and make recommendations for additions/edits to ensure accurate, timely and engaging content.Drive content strategy and creation for the GIX Network Wall.Create marketing communications for accuracy and ensure materials adhere to brand standards.Create marketing collateral, both digital and hard copy, for events GIX is involved in.Report on website analytics and make recommendations for improvements.Ensure consistency in messaging and branding in all printed and digital sources, and all other forms of internal and external marketing and communication materials.Project Management and ReportingCreate and monitor project schedules to ensure timely and coordinated executionOther duties as assigned. Media RelationsSupport work of Director of Communications with external media to identify appropriate reporters and pitch story ideas, providing reporters with background information, story sources and other materials needed to produce stories.Social MediaManage integrated communications across social media channels, especially Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, development, public relations or event and program management or a related field.Three years of experience in marketing and communications.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency using PC computers. Demonstrated strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for correspondence, special reports, spreadsheets, databases, forms, etc.Deep experience with WordPress for content additions/edits/updates to the website and the Network Wall.Flexible and adaptable to changes with little or no notice.Strong interpersonal skills and customer service.
