DUTIES: Reporting to the Director of New Media, the Video Production Technician will be responsible for the oversight and accuracy of content of products being produced to public, institutional internal/external customers, website and e-print publications. In addition, the scope of work will range from the Office of the Downstate President, faculty chairs, administrative department heads and office managers. Candidate will triage a wide range of traditional and digital media requests and offer services to customize each client's specific need. Other General Responsibilities include: - Generate and integrate graphics and effects into video productions. - Complete digital editing of productions in timely manner. - Direct and produce in-house productions and ability to direct talent for best performance during studio projects. - Write and/or modify scripts for teleprompter usage. - Assist with Studio management and oversee hardware equipment maintenance and upgrades. - Recommend purchasing hardware and software for department systems. - Assist in preparation of file to be uploaded to video sharing services. - Coordinate teleconferences via various external bridging systems. - Must have outstanding performance during fast paced production venues with ability to troubleshoot in real-time. - Assist with weekly interactive video conferencing. - Analog Video duplication to digital media. (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION) QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: - A Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of professional work experience in a digital video production environment; Working in a graduate level academic institution requires an individual who is familiar with basic medical terminology. - Must have advanced knowledge in Final Cut Pro, Premiere, Da Vinci Resolve and Grading; advanced knowledge of audio recording, editing, lighting and mixing; strong pre-visualization skills; strong ability to work independently and collaboratively as well as with a team. - Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) flexible problem solver who can work on tight deadlines in a creative environment; proven ability to handle a large volume of work as well as being a quick thinker/learner; interact with various departments within Downstate organization to collaborate on content concepts. PREFERRED: - At least five (5) to seven (7) years working as a professional in an academic medical research and health care environment is preferred, but not required. - Individual would have ability to understand and translate complex medical procedures and vocabulary into outstanding visual products.
