Under general supervision from the Associate Director, the Chief Marketing Officer will direct the strategic and tactical leadership and management of staff, assets, and fiscal resources to deliver services and administer marketing, which will include Communications, Public Relations, Fundraising and Customer Service programs at Hoxworth Blood Center.
Position Responsibilities (Other duties will be assigned):
Direct and manage daily operations of the assigned division; manages the staff, assets, and fiscal resources to deliver services and administer business services and programs at Hoxworth Blood Center.
Provides direct supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
Serves on Hoxworth, industry, or University committees and acts as liaison to University departments and external entities.
Direct the management of the department budget; establishes guidelines for customer centric processes; recommends and approves purchases.
Develops policies and implements procedures specific to the division.
Performs related duties based on departmental need.
Attend Community Advisory Board and Medical/Technical Advisory Committee and Senior Management Team meetings.
Significantly integrate communications with Marketing so there is a focused message internally to our people and externally to our community.
Collaborate with Collections and Recruitment to provide meaningful donor satisfaction data to the Cabinet for all of our collection sites.
Create and Implement marketing strategy and materials, if needed for the following products:
• Implementation of Pathogen Reduced (PR) Platelets.
• Low-Titer Group O Whole Blood so we can meet hospital customer needs and grow this new product usage.
Create marketing collateral for the Hoxworth to use in responding to an RFP.
Devise a Marketing strategy promoting the research we perform and moves people to want to participate or financially support it.
Create marketing collateral for each of our boutique services (IRL, CT, TID, and TA) with an emphasis of innovative products and tests; for existing and to-be-identified new customers.
Motivate blood donors in our territory to donate so we are able to meet our growing collections needs without increasing our spending on donor incentives.
Elaborate a Marketing Strategy to expand customer base in our boutique services (IRL, CT, TID and TA) that results in 20% increased revenue.
Develop Marketing plan to increase fundraising to at least $100,000/ year.
Create and Implement the Marketing strategy for the collection of Source Plasma with a focus on maximizing AB and A plasma and collecting ≥ 1500 Liters.
Identify and eliminate inefficient Marketing and Communication processes (outdated and manual) by 50%.
Increase fundraising to at least $200,000/ year.
Proactively plan and communicate donor and patient issues to the Cabinet and key stakeholders helping to drive change and become customer/ patient-centric.
Elaborate a Marketing Strategy to expand customer base in our boutique services (IRL, CT, TID and TA) that results in 50% increased revenue.
Continue executing plan to support source plasma collections focusing on maximizing AB and A Plasma ≥ 3000 Liters.
Continue executing plan to support source plasma collections focusing on maximizing AB and A Plasma ≥ 5000 Liters.
Continue work on Marketing Strategy to expand customer base in our boutique services (IRL, CT, TID and TA) that results in 100% increased revenue over basal.
Increase fundraising to at least $350,000/ year.
Bachelor’s degree with nine (9) years of experience –OR- Associate’s degree with at least eleven (11) years of experience.
Degree and experience must be in related fields includes at least five (5) years of direct supervision of other employees.
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree with nine (9) years of relevant experience and sufficient understanding of technical and regulatory aspects in Blood Banking, Cell Therapy and Clinical Laboratory Services.
