The Senior Director of Marketing and Communications within the College of Nursing will lead the development and execution of modern marketing and communications strategies to enhance the image and reputation of the college, as well as the university's Buckeye Wellness program and the Helene Fuld National Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice (EBP). The Senior Director will drive the choice of Ohio State from a multi-faceted set of stakeholders including prospective students, alumni and donors, corporate and community partners, government officials, in addition to academic and healthcare peers and others. Reports directly to the Vice President for Health Promotion, University Chief Wellness Officer, and Dean of the College of Nursing.
Will work closely with the VP/Dean and other college leaders to identify strategic communications needs and priorities to communicate the full range of academic strengths and educational programs, broad spectrum of research (basic, translational, clinical, outcomes), and innovations in healthcare interventions and delivery.
Develops a deep understanding of audiences and creates marketing strategies that optimize the dissemination of key messages, by audience to ensure consistency of message delivery. Leads a team of marketing and communications professionals in brand development and management, marketing strategy and implementation, communications and PR management, and creative development, delivery and production.
Responsible for managing the effective and efficient delivery of communications needs for the college's internal stakeholders, including executive communications and profile management. Collaborates with internal stakeholders across the college, Buckeye Wellness and the Fuld Institute for EBP to partner on strategies to achieve established goals.
Collaborates with university marketing, communications, and advancement staff to align effectively with the university's mission and initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Business Administration, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; at least 7-10 years of relevant strategic marketing, public relations, journalism, corporate communications and/or agency work; 3-5 years of experience in team leadership and management; extensive experience in brand, marketing, and communications strategic planning and implementation across platforms and channels; demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing and communications initiatives; ability to manage multiple projects to deadline amidst competing priorities; high level of strategic thinking, personal initiative and innovation; ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Master's degree; knowledge and familiarity with higher education and the healthcare industry; experience fostering a collaborative and creative work environment; ability to communicative effectively with diverse audiences; superior oral, written, editing, and presentation skills; strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills; proven ability to deliver projects that achieve strategic objectives, on-time and on-budget; prior responsibility for a marketing budget; strategic and long-range planning experience.
Target Salary: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 Annually
