We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Pitches and Pursuits Senior Coordinator to join our growing Global Pitches and Pursuits team. We are a high-performing group of team players, coaches, forward-thinkers, creatives, and pitch enthusiasts. This role will focus on managing the effective development and delivery of our high-value and strategic pitches in the Americas.
JOB DESCRIPTION Manage and create high-value, strategic pursuits deliverables, panel proposals (local and regional), complex Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) responses, and presentations, etc. for clients in the public and private sectors, across practices and industries, in the Americas. Collaborate with internal Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) teams (client, practice, industry, graphic design, etc.) to develop highly tailored and client-focused pitches. Liaise with lawyers and business services employees at all levels on pitch development in the Americas (i.e., participation in no/no go process, kick-off calls, drafting of pitch schedule and team responsibilities, development of key messages, design, pricing, etc.). Research and review relevant market intelligence and make recommendations based on the findings to add additional value to your teams. Leverage Hogan Lovells’ pitch best practices to ensure pitch materials are consistently client-focused, compliant, proofed, and easy to evaluate. Work with extended M&BD teams to identify compelling new ways to improve final pitch product and existing pitch processes. Coach lawyers on effective presentation techniques and assist with preparing client-facing presentations. Develop and deliver training to M&BD teams on pitching best practices. Assist Pitches and Pursuits Managers with developing and delivering lawyer pitch trainings as needed. Collaborate with assigned industry M&BD teams to understand how the pitch team can support their sectors’ business development goals. Assist in maintaining and updating standard pitch content within the various pitch databases. Champion the firm’s brand and be an ambassador for maintaining high quality control standards. Keep abreast of relevant market and competitive intelligence in the Americas. Participate in our Global Citizenship program. Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Five (5)+ years of proven business development or pitch experience (e.g., proposals, high-value strategic pursuits) in a professional services, corporate, or agency environment required. B.S. or B.A. degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, or a related field is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and internal and external client-facing skills. Ability to build strong relationships with the M&BD team and with partners across the Americas with the confidence to challenge and coach them on pitching best practices. Constructive communicator with the ability to express yourself in a positive, confident, and professional manner. Very strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to write persuasively and clearly in a natural and conversational tone. Ability to listen actively to foster meaningful dialogue, effective communication, and problem solving. Pragmatic, diplomatic, considerate, and resourceful, with the ability to adapt quickly to different situations and personalities. A can-do attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment. An enthusiastic team player with the desire to be proactive and to act autonomously with minimal guidance. A strategic thinker with the ability to see the bigger picture and think laterally and “connect the dots” across the firm. A solutions-oriented problem-solver. A reliable project manager with the ability to multitask and work on multiple complex pitches under tight deadlines. Acute attention to detail, with strong copyediting and proofreading capabilities. Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office. Adobe InDesign experience is a plus. Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to read, write, and speak fluently is a plus.
Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including lunch hour. Must be flexible to work additional hours when time sensitive projects occur.
