The Division of Extended Campus at Oregon State University (OSU) is seeking a Assistant Director – Marketing. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Director.
Oregon State University's Division of Extended Campus is a fast-growing, innovative organization with a commitment to providing access to Oregon State University's programs of excellence. The assistant director of marketing is a member of the marketing and enrollment services team within the division. This position leads an internal creative services team supporting marketing and communications strategies that promote the division and its programs.
A primary focus for this position is to create, implement and track targeted marketing plans and campaigns, which rely heavily on online marketing and communications tactics. This position collaborates with the web/IT and enrollment services teams to ensure consistent communication and follow-up with prospects across the prospect-to-student lifecycle. This position also collaborates with others on communications to current students and alumni.
This position also oversees the delegation, implementation and evaluation of marketing by other marketing managers on staff. The assistant director of marketing works closely with the director of marketing and enrollment services on departmental marketing planning, staff team-building activities and managing paid media campaigns and related vendors. This position maintains a close working relationship with University Relations and Marketing and with faculty and department leads in the Division of Extended Campus' respective program areas.

Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Journalism or related field. 3 years' experience managing communications and marketing functions.
Bachelor's degree in business/marketing, communications or related field (such as journalism, public relations, et cetera).
At least three-five years of professional experience working within a marketing-related field, which included development, implementation and management of marketing strategy and tactics.
Experience leading teams.
Knowledge of marketing tracking and analytics.
Excellent written skills, including copywriting and editing, and verbal communication, including presentation skills.
Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity, including the ability to build relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
Project management experience, including demonstrated success and willingness to participate on teams.
Excellent time management skills and ability to adhere to deadlines.
Proven track record of creativity and innovative work.
Experience working independently and initiating work.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
