The Department of Health Services has an excellent opportunity for a 50% part-time Recruitment & Marketing Specialist to work with the graduate programs in Health Services Administration to implement strategic plans for communications and marketing in support of student recruitment, admissions, and alumni relations. This position writes and designs communications and promotional materials, plans and coordinates special events for recruitment and alumni relations, and represents the program at recruitment events. The Recruitment & Marketing Specialist will report to the Senior Public Information Specialist and work as part of a team to support the Master of Health Administration (MHA), the Executive Master of Health Administration (EMHA), and the Master of Health Informatics and Health Information Management (MHIHIM) programs, and the Certificate Program in Medical Management (CPMM). Specific responsibilities focus on marketing, recruitment and alumni services.
Recruitment, Marketing, and Communications
Implement annual communication and outreach plan for marketing and recruitment
Implement annual schedule for pursuing inquirers and prospective students, and maintain the processes of responding to inquiries and tracking data; analyze inquiry data to inform strategic planning for recruitment
Implement/track annual recruitment plans and progress for the MHA, EMHA, MHIHIM, and certificate programs
Provide initial communications and services in response to first-time and follow-up inquiries from prospective students and the public seeking admissions and program information
Plan individual visits for prospective students and larger-scale recruitment events both on campus and on-site at regional healthcare organizations
Conduct webinars and in-person informational sessions for prospective students
Collaborate with other student recruitment staff in the Department and across the School of Public Health to optimize and coordinate activities.
Develop and organizing opportunities for student involvement in the recruitment process
Implement the strategic plan for MHA Program Visit Day, the major recruiting event of the year; includes program development, interview process and content, event logistics, and alumni and student engagement
Represent program at public events, career fairs, recruiting events, conferences, etc.
Build relationships and act as liaison with professional health care associations and organizations locally and nationally, as well as other relevant units on campus.
Write and edit content for Program web sites
Participate in the development of a social media strategy and manage program's social media outlets to energize our student, alumni and community base
Conceptualize promotional materials for displays, flyers, phone scripts, swag, etc., and update annually as needed
Write content for placement in external publications, such as monthly AUPHA Exchange, newsletters of local health care organizations, etc.
Identify students and alumni to request testimonials and profiles
Coordinate the collection and use of photos for program promotional purposes (newsletter, social media, web site, etc.), both in partnership with PCE and using the program's own equipment
Participate in planning and staffing alumni events that provide educational and networking opportunities for alumni and the local health care community.
Participate in the development and maintenance of the program alumni LinkedIn page(s)
Participate in data review and/or entry tasks, as needed
Produce annual program statistics, trend information, etc. for student recruitment, admissions, and other public relations needs
Support Program Manager in implementation of strategies and best practices to improve information management for recruitment, admissions, and alumni purposes
Plan program events, as needed (Advisory Committee meetings, Alumni Association meetings, Orientation, open houses, and other program recruitment events )
Support program fund development activities
Other related duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, English, or a related field
Two years' experience implementing marketing and communications strategies, plans and materials
Proficiency with photo editing and graphic design
Experience with social media marketing campaigns
Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects
Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to work professionally, productively, and collegially with a broad range of individuals, from prospective and current students to faculty, leaders on campus, and executives in the health care industry
Events coordination experience
Strong public presentation skills
Excellent writing and editing skills
Strong eye for detail and high standards of accuracy
Proficiency with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Access)
Ability to travel to off-site locations as needed. After hire, a valid driver's license is required along with completion of UW Fleet Services Basic Driver Training in order to operate University Vehicles for travel.
Experience with UW systems such as Advance, MyGrad Program, and Convio.
Experience with tele-/web-based conferencing/meeting technologies
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Appointment to this position is contingent upon obtaining satisfactory results from a criminal background check.
This position requires off-site travel, including occasional overnight travel, to recruitment events.
This position must be able to work flexible hours as necessary due to work demands.
