Job Summary/Essential Job Functions: This position is responsible for designing, producing, and assisting with the installation of various types of signage for campus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews sign requests, and makes design recommendations through collaboration with Communications and Marketing.
Creates artwork through the usage of computer software and/or sign-making equipment.
Creates new, or modifies existing university signage by using a variety of materials, including wood, vinyl, plastic, and aluminum.
Installs and perform duties related to the installation signs.
Prepare the installation site and provide hardware, such as signposts or bolts, needed to install signs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED; three (3) years' experience in sign design and production to include but not limited to saws, grinders, drills, punches, or rivet guns; prior experience working in an educational institution a plus. The selected candidate should possess competency in operating the following machinery and tools within six (6) months of hire; Vision 2550 -24x50 CNC Router and Engraver, Summa color wide format printer for printing outdoor signage, Roland Camm vinyl cutter, New Hermes engraver for small signs, safety Saw for Plastic cutting of signs, and various hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, rulers and tape measure and other tools. POSITION REQUIRES A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE. (TRANSCRIPT OR PROOF OF CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED IF EDUCATION IS USED TO QUALIFY).
