Under general supervision of the Director of Marketing and Communications, Tseng College: Graduate, International, and Midcareer Education, the Senior Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management of the digital marketing and communications systems and services, which includes management of all digital marketing strategies (SEM, SEO, social media advertising, email marketing, etc.) and the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System used by the college used to track and support the marketing and communication strategy for each program offered, from initial prospect contact through application, enrollment, and alumni communications. The incumbent is responsible for enhancing the effectiveness of the marketing and communications strategy for each program, tracking the effectiveness of each marketing strategy component, and refining the marketing strategy for future program offerings; supports marketing leadership in the evolution of our digital media strategy and works closely with Design Agencies and other University teams to implement optimal digital marketing plans; trains staff in the CRM system and similar tools to ensure the accurate input of data and the effective use of these tools for communication, cultivation and interaction with prospective and ongoing students/clients; works with the technical specialist to customize the CRM system to meet College needs and assesses the effectiveness of current tools; researches and makes recommendations regarding the use of new digital tools and technologies; works with the digital marketing services to ensure that they are providing the services needed; recommends ways to enhance the use of services to achieve marketing goals, tracks and reports the effectiveness of such services as components of marketing plans for different programs, and investigates other possible services. Works with the Director and Associate Director of Marketing and Communications to develop and implement effective digital marketing campaigns and analyzes and reports on the results (ROI); applies proactive problem solving and leadership skills to respond tactically to the evolving array of needs and challenges inherent in a fast paced environment; maintains effective collaboration with the entire College staff, key vendors, and colleagues on the CSUN campus; and is responsible for providing critical support and analysis to the Director of Marketing in support of the digital marketing efforts of the College. Performs other duties as assigned.
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in marketing, information technology or a job-related field. Equivalent to four years of fulltime professional or technical experience in marketing, which includes two or more years of experience in a digital marketing role with a heavy use of CRM system and digital marketing and communications tools and strategies required. Higher education experience, and experience with CRM system Salesforce and Certified Salesforce Administrator designation is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Experience managing SEO, SEM and Google Analytics. Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional. Functional knowledge of marketing automation software (such as Pardot, ActOn or Hubspot) is prefered. Expert knowledge of web content tools and managing email campaigns. Expertise in web analytics (specifically Google Analytics), website conversion testing, and landing page development and optimization is required. The candidate should be comfortable identifying the key metrics and success measures in each advertising medium and be able to create reports and clearly explain the outcomes and implications of the marketing activities. Knowledge of HTML is a plus. Ability and Specialized Skills to: work well with others in a close and collaborative cocreative team environment; develop and maintain positive working relationships within and across organizational units; exercise creative problem solving skills; resolve conflicts; perform advanced internet research; work with accuracy and reliability, manage details, create and implement working schedules and action plans, handle multiple projects, set priorities, meet deadlines and anticipate/address potential problems; effectively write/develop marketing and communication material and write correspondence, reports, presentations and summaries for a variety of audiences.. Strong organizational, planning and time management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical skills are required, including the ability to research and analyze data, draw conclusions, and report on data findings. Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

The salary range for this classification is: $4104 - $6662 per month.
The anticipated hiring range: $4104- $6250, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Hours: Full Time 40hrs/wk; 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday; may include some evenings and weekends. Temporary-renewable; year-to-year with the potential of gaining permanent status.
This position is a sensitive position as designated by the CSU.
