In collaboration with the manager of communications & marketing, this position is responsible for: implementing communications, web presence, public relations, and events for CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation, programs and services; and for planning and implementing specific communication programs for and interfacing with CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Associates, volunteers, physicians, patients, board members, community and political leaders, state and local media, representatives and the general public. The Specialist will be privy to and is responsible for confidential corporate information, including strategic plans, financial information and risk management situations, in addition to patient information, and will be required to hold certain information in a confidential manner.
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in journalism, public relations, communications or other related field.
Requires strong writing and graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite knowledge preferred).
Professional social media experience preferred.
Requires computer skills in word processing and knowledge of Windows working environment. Requires ability to operated standard office equipment, including fax machines, printers, copiers, etc. Desk-top publishing experience is a plus.
Requires ability to set priorities with little guidance and to juggle several assignments at once. Requires discreetness, the ability to remain calm in the face of deadlines and must work well with all levels of Associates.
Requires three (3) to five (5) years of experience in public relations, communications, advertising or the media. Experience in a health care and/or non-profit is a plus.
