We are The American Jail Association, a non-profit association focused on working with the men and women who operate and work in our Nation's jails. We are searching for a Sales and Marketing Coordinator (non-exempt position) who shares our vision for great customer service and business growth.
This key sales position contributes to the mission of the association by selling advertising in our print and online publications, selling expo booths to the annual conference and trade show and supporting the sales requirements of all other areas of the association.
The successful candidate will have the motivation and skills to accomplish:
Expanding the advertising base and executing advertising contracts
Identifying opportunities for growth – which may include sales enhancements and sponsorships
Building strong relationships with key contacts from advertisers
Listening to customers to ensure a proper fit and value for the audience – a critical success indicator of this position is to connect meaningful advertising to the member
Generating revenues in print publishing, online and expo advertising
Proactive prospecting- which may include internet searches, reviewing other industry publications and government databases
Database and advertising contract organization – all material is stored online and shared throughout the company
Ability to report results in excel – monthly metrics reporting is required
Attention to detail by proofing advertising copy – support the American Jails magazine editor in proofing and placement of all advertising
Follow through and follow up with both internal and external customers to ensure high satisfaction
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Have more than five years work experience in marketing and sales (combined) or a four-year degree in marketing, communications or related discipline. Association sales a plus, but not required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Systems
Ability to work in team environments
Ability to travel
Ability to prioritize and complete tasks
Promotional copy writing and design experience is a plus, but not required
