The Marketing Manager, Thought Leadership will develop and execute marketing and communications plans that effectively motivate priority audiences to engage with the Initiatives. The Marketing Manager will work closely with the Executive Directors of each assigned Thought Leadership area, providing new insight and ideas to help drive the overall vision and business directives. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate the ability to work with faculty to help translate research and facilitate platforms for disseminating that research. Experience with integrated marketing and/or communication strategy and planning as well as social media and direct marketing required. This position requires a team player who works well in matrix environments and can liaise across departments and audiences including faculty, staff and the Kellogg Marketing and Communications department. Prefer candidate with experience with website development, content management systems and media relations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter that welcomes opportunity to define the role and work in an entrepreneurial environment. Reports to Director of Marketing, Strategic Initiatives & Thought Leadership. Please note: Some evenings and weekends as needed.
STRATEGY & PLANNING
Develops, directs and executes the overall marketing, communications and social/digital media strategies for assigned Kellogg Thought Leadership.
Develop, execute, and adjust a go-to-market strategy and marketing plan in alignment with business objectives and goals (drive awareness and deepen Kellogg engagement with targeted audiences).
Lead market research, marketplace assessments and align content development, marketing and communications to audience needs.
Deepen Kellogg engagement in the community, particularly in outreach to external corporate stakeholders and public and private sector organizations.
Create, facilitate manage, and develop materials related to promoting key events/activities within assigned Initiatives.
Assists with the development and maintenance of new and existing websites, maintaining content, creating new blogs and ensuring synergy with the overall Kellogg website.
Determine optimal means to version and promote content across paid, owned, and earned media channels.
Working with the cross-functional MarComm team, test new channels to scale marketing and distribution of thought leadership content.
TESTING AND REPORTING
Testing, measurement, analysis and reporting on marketing performance (paid, owned and earned).
Monitor other universities and benchmark companies to keep apprised of developments and industry trends.

Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
5+ years of relevant industry and/or functional experience (marketing, communications, digital/social media).
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
Significant experience in driving social media strategy.
Adept at reporting and analysis, creating reports, and formulating test plans.
Able to develop recommendations based on data analysis and best practices.
Experience managing cross-functional projects and streamlining processes.
Graduate degree, such as an MBA or Master’s Degree in Marketing or Communications or equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired.
