Under the direction of, and in collaboration with, the Arts Center Executive Director, the Marketing and Publicity Manager will research, develop, implement and evaluate an integrated strategic marketing plan to promote the events in the Arts Center and the Glazer Music Performance Hall to the Rochester community. In addition, the Marketing and Publicity Manger will work to raise the visibility of the Nazareth arts programs’ events and activities. The Manager will utilize paid advertising, marketing/publicity initiatives, the website, electronic and social media to achieve the Center’s goals. The Manager will work in close collaboration with the marketing and communications team of the College, faculty and other Arts Center staff including the Box Office Manager, the Budget and Facilities Manager and technical support staff as appropriate.
-Research, develop, implement and evaluate an overall integrated strategic communications plan for the Arts Center
-Create a detailed seasonal, per-show marketing plan that outlines strategies, and all costs associated with the creative and placement, in order to maximize attendance
-Direct the design, production and distribution of all print and electronic communication materials, including print, TV and radio advertisements, direct mail pieces, mailings, program books, etc, ensuring the Center stay timely and within budget on all initiatives.
-Create content for, manage, and approve the Arts Center’s website and social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube
-Write and distribute press releases; follow up with all media outlets to ensure maximized press coverage: Attend performances as needed to handle the media and other public relations concerns.
-Support Theatre and Dance; Art; and Music Departments through marketing of student performances and exhibitions, in collaboration with department chairpersons.
-Other duties as assigned
Required Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills
-Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, English, Business or Arts Administration
-A minimum of three years work experience in marketing/communications
-An understanding and appreciation for the performing arts
-Must be skillful in social media, website content management and media relations.
-Exceptional organizational skills and be able to attend to and prioritize projects. -Ability to successfully manage interpersonal working relationships. As appropriate, collaborate with staff in other units and divisions to achieve the goals of the College. -Strong written and verbal communication skills. -Handles confidential information sensitively and appropriately. - Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Social Media, Adobe Creative Suite

-Previous experience in performing/visual arts marketing/public relations.
