We’re looking for a communications rockstar who’ll give a voice to our vision, elevate the brand visibility of BBYO, and create demand for BBYO’s offerings. In this role, your creativity, command of the written word, familiarity with email and social best practices, and ability to prioritize and manage a diverse workflow, and are the key ingredients to your success here.
You’ll report to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications and work closely with other members of the team to execute campaigns in support of BBYO’s mission and goals, and ensure the articulation of our brand consistently across the organization. You’ll also lead and support the marketing and content development efforts for our internal clients, making sure we’re on track to meet deadlines and expectations.
Translate organizational objectives into annual communications plan, specifying goals, key messages, and deliverables; manage a comprehensive monthly communications calendar
Create and curate content for BBYO’s audiences, including emails, web content, brochures, flyers, and social media posts
Manage the distribution of content across multiple digital and print platforms and help grow our subscriber base by providing them with regular, helpful content that’s aligned with their interests
Manage A-to-Z email campaigns, including designing written templates, focusing on calls-to-action, and creating content designed to compel our audience to take action; segment lists based on behaviors like past email engagement and website interactions
Lead social media strategy and execution across BBYO’s social platforms, implementing strategies and tactics that grow our followers, engage and retain them and help convert them into new members, program participants and donors
Play a lead role in the messaging and communication of BBYO’s International Convention, the organization’s annual conference bringing together 4,500+ stakeholders from around the world
Work closely with in-house graphic designer and vendors to create, produce and distribute collateral and other written materials
BA/BS degree in communications, marketing, English or related area of study
4+ years’ experience in a related role Experience in:
Content development, writing and execution across multiple digital and print platforms
Email marketing, including optimization techniques, A/B testing, and audience journey segmentation
Social media usage and strategies across a variety of platforms in the workplace, especially Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
Background managing large scope projects that require coordination across multiple teams under tight deadlines
Exceptional written communications skills and meticulous attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks, perform and thrive in a high-volume, dynamic environment
Results-oriented with a metric mindset and can-do attitude
Experience with Hootsuite, Kentico and/or Salesforce a plus
Willingness to travel (10%); Must be willing to work at BBYO International Convention each February
